This is a photo of Josh on a walk in New Zealand taken in February 2003. It is a bit out of date but I think it captures something about his thoughtfulness. I last saw Josh in Boston in January 2009 right before he left on his "Year of the Global". I had a cold and he took me out for tea and gave me half of his fair trade organic chocolate bar. Then he produced a carrot salad he had made for me to take on my flight home and two sets of chopsticks that were a wedding present. That is what Josh is like. He wants people to be healthy and he wants the planet to be healthy. In everything he does, these basic intentions come through. In living his values, Josh leaves a continual stream of small acts of generosity and thoughtful care. Josh is always looking out for us and our world and he wants us to be well and happy and fair. Josh has some things to teach us about how to be in the world. We need him to be free and we need more people like Josh.
